Position Description

Our client is seeking a Master Plumber. You will perform a variety of skilled work in supporting the installation, replacement, and maintenance of water mains and services, as well as installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water meters. This includes leading and directing other personnel to complete assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; and
• Three (3) years of experience as a Journeyman Plumber, currently holding a Master Plumber license, or able to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
• Experience with both water and natural gas plumbing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of plumbing practices and codes.
• Skill (proficiency) with Personal Computers, technology, and applications to complete job tasks, to include AMI, Customer Information Systems, Work Order, and Inventory Management software.
• Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; mechanical ability; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely; ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.

Special Requirements:

• Must be willing to accept overtime assignments and work in inclement weather.
• Submit to Department of Transportation required pre-employment, random, and post-accident required drug, alcohol, and cannabis testing.
• Complete any required courses or training as assigned.
• Meet the 25-mile proximity requirement from the employee’s home to Austin, MN.
• Successfully complete all modules for covered tasks required for this position under Austin Utilities’ Operator Qualifications Manual.

Salary/Benefits

• $87,776 - $125,403 pending candidate experience
