Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Kokomo, IN

Contract to Hire - 6 month contract and then direct hire

Starting Pay: $30-35/hr depending on experience

Must Have:

• 3+ years of experience packing and shipping of materials
• Experience managing a team
• Detail oriented and good with documentation on a computer

Manager notes:

• This person will be managing the team of technicians on the site responsible for packing, labeling, and shipping waste
• Maintain Compliance in 90 day Large Quantity Generator Status facility
• Operate Waste Drum pad
• Liaison to Site Lead for waste management regulations
• Ability to assist with Spill Response
• Supervise 3+ Environmental Technicians for waste conveyance and operations
• Any experience with waste profiling, characterizing, scheduling, manifesting, labeling, recycling, shipping would be a plus but not required
• Site Vehicle for on-site and off-site...must be able to qualify for MPS Commercial insurance requirement. Clean driving record.

Our client is seeking a Lead Environmental Technician to join their team at a facility located in Kokomo, In. This individual will be responsible for leading the packaging, handling, and shipping of solid and hazardous waste at the plant.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal container or storage room.

• Segregate, sort and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use.
• Clean/maintain organization and compliance of 90-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, labeling drums.
• Supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal.
• Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization.
• Perform inspections of waste storage areas, and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection.
• Inventory and Inspections of Waste Spill Kits.
• Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers.
• Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required.
• Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks.
• Operate Burden carriers.
• Follow all plant- related safety guidelines.
• Sort and bale recyclable material.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Hazardous waste experience preferred but not required
