POSITION SUMMARY:

The Upholstery Assembler position is responsible for putting the vinyl covers on the production and warranty furniture components and securing them in place.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Installs vinyl covers on furniture parts using various stretching pulling and shaping techniques.
• Staple the covers to the furniture parts by using air powered stapling equipment.
• Inspects finished product for quality upon completion.
• Performs various manual assembly operations such as: trimming hinge installation and foam gluing.
• Collects foam pieces in bundles.
• Operates and performs daily cleaning and maintenance on various assembly machines such as: snap hydem embossing heat transfer and screen printing.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Preferred Degree: Former Apprenticeship or associates degree preferred
• Experience: 1 year experience preferred but not necessary

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Ability for rapid mental and muscular depth perception
• Repetitious work

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

• Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
