Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Talent Acquisition Advisor, under the direction of the VP of HR, is responsible for strategically and proactively sourcing passive and active candidates to build and maintain a quality talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs. Understands external labor market conditions. Leverages effective, economical, and appropriate sources/channels and methods. Builds and maintains relationships with potential candidates, recruitment agencies and associations. Reviews resumes and contacts candidates to ascertain fit and interest and refers to hiring managers as appropriate. Extends offers and negotiates compensation. May participate in onboarding and facilitate new employee orientation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent, utilizing various channels such as job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals.
  • Proactively source and identify qualified candidates through online sourcing, networking, cold calling, and other innovative methods.
  • Review resumes, conduct initial phone screenings, coordinate interviews, and assess candidate qualifications and fit for specific roles through interviews, assessments, and reference checks.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs, utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other tools to manage candidate data effectively.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand their talent needs, provide guidance on job descriptions, and facilitate the hiring process to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment experience.
  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives by promoting the organization as an employer of choice through compelling job postings, employer branding materials, and participation in industry events.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process by providing timely communication, feedback, and support to candidates, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics and trends to measure the effectiveness of recruitment efforts, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance with hiring practices, including equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, privacy regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in talent acquisition, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance recruitment processes and practices to attract and retain top talent effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have any direct reports, however, is responsible for supervising the process of recruiting and onboarding top candidates into the workforce.

Qualifications

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant HR or Recruiting Related Certifications are preferred, but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, psychology, sales management. 2-4 years of experience working in a similar recruiting or talent acquisition role. May have equivalent experience and/or education to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Experience working in a fast paced recruitment environment of trucking, manufacturing, or similar industry.
  • Must have knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO and affirmative guidelines and laws.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Capable of working well with a team on various projects and initiatives to drive employer of choice branding strategy.
