We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our production operations and drive efficiency.

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the production process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality electronics subassemblies and custom sensors in an engineered-to-order environment. This role requires hands-on leadership, a strong background in manufacturing, and expertise in ERP systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production workflows, managing a skilled team, and become our in-house subject matter expert on our INFOR Visual ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Oversight: Manage daily production operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control, to meet customer deadlines in an ETO environment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing principles and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality in electronics subassembly and custom sensor manufacturing.
  • ERP System Management: Utilize and maintain ERP systems to track production, inventory, and order fulfillment. Lead the optimization effort of the INFOR Visual ERP system, ensuring seamless integration and staff training.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with our quality control team to maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO9001 & AS9100) and customer specifications.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain: Oversee inventory levels, coordinate with procurement, and manage supply chain logistics to support production needs.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, downtime, and on-time delivery. Provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols, as well as compliance within a quality management system (ISO9001/AS9100). In addition, maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Establishment and maintenance of a robust operator OTJ training program, including training documentation and records.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in production management, with a strong preference for expertise in electronics subassembly and custom sensor manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, testing and quality control. Familiarity with IPC J Std a plus”
  • Proven track record in an engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (e.g., INFOR Visual, SAP, or similar), including system implementation or upgrades.

  • Technical Skills:
  • Working knowledge of INFOR Visual or comparable ERP software is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, testing, and quality control.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

  • Certifications (preferred but not required):
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • PMP or other project management certifications.
  • OSHA safety training or certifications.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site in Elizabeth City, NC.
  • Willingness to occasionally work extended hours to meet production deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
