Job Description

Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® (NVAR) is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Manager, Marketing Communications to execute day-to-day marketing and communications efforts across the organization. This role is responsible for creating and delivering clear, engaging content across digital channels—including social media, email, web, and mobile—to support member engagement, promote programs and events, and strengthen the Association’s brand.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, this position translates organizational priorities into effective communications, supports integrated marketing efforts, and ensures accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all channels. The Manager also contributes to marketing communications planning, maintains production schedules, and tracks performance metrics to inform continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation and Copywriting

  • Write and produce content directly for social media, blogs, email campaigns, and marketing materials, ensuring consistency in tone, voice, and branding.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop content that supports organizational initiatives and member engagement.
  • Edit and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards.

Social Media Management

  • Plan, create, schedule, and monitor social media content, managing engagement and audience growth.
  • Address member questions and feedback on social media promptly and professionally, ensuring engagement aligns with the organization’s brand voice and communications strategy.
  • Analyze engagement trends and recommend adjustments to improve reach and interaction.

Website and App Updates

  • Update and maintain website and mobile app content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and a positive user experience.
  • Coordinate with other departments to gather content updates and ensure timely posting.
  • Maintain a regular auditing schedule to identify outdated or missing information, as well as technical issues.

Email Marketing and E-Newsletters

  • Draft, build, and distribute e-newsletters and targeted email campaigns, maintaining production schedules and distribution timelines.
  • Segment and manage email lists to reach appropriate audiences with tailored messaging.
  • Track basic email campaign performance and suggest improvements to increase engagement.

Marketing Campaign and Event Support

  • Execute marketing campaigns to promote programs, events, and member benefits. Support event promotion and assist with materials and logistics as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns and events align with brand standards and messaging.

Marketing Communications Plans

  • Draft marketing communications plans for organizational initiatives, outlining objectives, key messages, and channels in coordination with the team.
  • Assist in prioritizing communications projects and scheduling content based on organizational goals.

Production Schedule Management

  • Maintain an organized production schedule to ensure timely creation and delivery of communications across channels.
  • Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to manage deadlines and workflow efficiently.

Metrics Tracking

  • Monitor and report on basic performance metrics for social media, email, and website content, providing insights to improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Prepare brief reports for leadership or stakeholders highlighting trends, successes, and opportunities for improvement.

Event Marketing and Experiential Branding

  • Ensure consistent brand execution across in-person and virtual experiences.
  • Collaborate cross-organizationally to ensure cohesive messaging.

Team Collaboration

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional marketing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with WordPress (or similar CMS) for website content updates.
  • Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms for campaigns and newsletters.
  • Basic analytics skills to monitor email, web, and social media performance.
  • Proofreading and editing for clarity, grammar, and brand consistency.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement tracking (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube).
  • Exceptional project management and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in associations, nonprofits, or membership-based organizations.
  • Some photography experience.

Salary Range $65,00 - $70,000
