Job Description

Job Description – Primary Class Teachers (Key Stages 1s or 2)
Founding Primary Team – New International School, Bangkok

Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic primary educators to join the founding teaching team of a new British international school in Bangkok, under the umbrella of a prestigious global education group with K12 campuses across multiple countries. This is a rare opportunity to play a foundational role in establishing a primary programme that reflects high academic standards, strong pastoral care, and a commitment to developing the whole child. As part of the inaugural staff, you will help shape not only classroom practice but also the broader educational framework, culture, and ethos of the school.

We are hiring multiple class teachers for both KS1 and KS2 levels.

Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications & Experience Required

Hold a recognised teaching credential such as a PGCE, B.Ed., or an equivalent qualification

Possess a university degree in a relevant field

Have proven, hands-on teaching experience within Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2

Demonstrate thorough familiarity with the English National Curriculum or comparable British-style international curricula

Show sound knowledge of effective primary teaching strategies, assessment practices, and developmental milestones

Exhibit strong skills in classroom organisation, communication, and relationship-building

Show a clear dedication to ongoing professional development and self-reflection

Previous exposure to international schooling or all-through school settings is advantageous but not mandatory

Core Teaching Duties

Design, prepare, and deliver well-planned, stimulating lessons that align with the school's curricular framework and quality standards

Establish a structured yet welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages academic effort, personal responsibility, and emotional security

Monitor, document, and communicate student progress in accordance with school assessment policies, using data to guide future teaching decisions

Maintain open, constructive dialogue with families to build strong partnerships between home and school

Adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate a diverse, multicultural student body

Incorporate digital tools thoughtfully to enrich learning experiences and foster engagement

Play an active part in the ongoing creation, evaluation, and improvement of the primary curriculum as a member of the founding academic team

Engage fully in year-group meetings, phase-level collaboration, whole-school gatherings, and professional learning sessions

Support the social, emotional, and personal development of pupils alongside their academic growth

Consistently uphold a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that respects all learners

Participate in school functions and parent-oriented activities, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend events

Founding Team & Whole-School Contributions

Act as both class teacher and primary point of pastoral contact for your assigned group of pupils, overseeing their academic journey and wellbeing

Work closely with colleagues across different age phases to foster a cohesive all-through school community

Assist with extended day offerings, including enrichment clubs, hobby groups, and supervised study sessions as needed

Take an active role in the co-curricular programme by leading or supporting extra-curricular activities, school outings, and residential trips as they are introduced

Carry out supervision responsibilities during break times, lunch periods, and student transition moments

Help cultivate a professional, supportive, and high-expectation staff culture consistent with the ethos of established international schools within the group

Personal Attributes We Value

Deep passion for primary education and a sincere belief in every child's potential to thrive

Genuine excitement about the challenges and opportunities that come with being a founding staff member

Approachable, thoughtful, and adaptable in daily interactions

A team-oriented colleague with a constructive, can-do approach to problem-solving

Culturally sensitive, globally aware, and respectful of diverse backgrounds

Well-organised, self-motivated, and uncompromising in maintaining high standards

Please note that this list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. The role may reasonably evolve to include additional duties as determined by school leadership, in line with the needs of a growing school.
