About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to lead and oversee HIM operations within a well-established healthcare system. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for coding compliance, documentation integrity, and overall department performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all HIM operations , including coding, documentation, and records management
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10 coding standards and regulatory guidelines
• Oversee medical records processing, transcription, release of information, and data integrity
• Monitor and improve coding accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Develop and implement HIM policies and process improvements
• Manage and mentor HIM staff, driving team performance
• Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field
• 5+ years of HIM leadership/management experience
• 5+ years of medical coding experience
• Strong knowledge of HIM operations, coding, and compliance

Certifications

• RHIT required
• RHIA highly preferred
