We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team as an Assistant Human Resources Director . This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who brings strong employee relations expertise and thrives in a unionized, highly regulated healthcare environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Director, this position supports the delivery of compliant, consistent, and employee-centered HR services. You will lead HR staff, partner with leadership, and serve as a trusted resource on employee relations, performance management, and workforce practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily HR operations and ensure compliance with policies, labor agreements, and regulations
• Advise managers and employees on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management
• Lead recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and compliant experience
• Coach and develop HR team members while maintaining high service standards
• Partner across teams to improve HR processes and enhance the employee experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 6+ years of HR experience in a unionized or regulated environment
• 3+ years of leadership experience
• Knowledge of employment laws and collective bargaining agreements
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) required within one year
