Job Description

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for a Full Time Aircraft Maintenance Technician to work in Marathon, FL.

 

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician provides onsite maintenance support for Monroe County Sheriff’s Office aircraft including AgustaWestland AW 139 and Beechcraft King Air B2000. This position is responsible for daily to annual maintenance including assisting in planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining the aircraft in accordance with FAA Part 91 and 135 air carrier certificate. Strong Electrical background a plus. A & P License required. Starting salary is $ 82,458.00. Pay is dependent upon experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Airframe and Power plant Certification
  • Completion of at least 2 years of an Aviation Science trade or vocational school, or prior military training.
  • Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience preferred
  • Three years’ experience working for an EMS helicopter program desirable
  • Maintenance experience on AgustaWestland AW 139 helicopters desirable
  • A comparable amount of education, training, or experience with related job skill will be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
  • Responsible for having a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical and administrative issues
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with other team members
  • Strong work ethic with team-oriented approach
  • Must pass an extensive background check and pre-employment DOT drug test
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Able to take initiative, creating, implementing and improving procedures
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout the Florida Keys area is required. Must possess a valid Driver’s license
